Pleine Aire Painting
A week ago I stopped by the Lawrence Gallery in Sheridan to see a long lost friends' show of Pleine Aire Paintings. Dee Boyles lived in Portland many years ago and mostly did watercolors back then. He has now progessed to be a full-time professional oil painter. If you get a chance to see his show it is well worth the effort. We discussed his favorite paints, he uses some Gamblin, but really prefers M Graham Oils for out-door painting. He says they dry slower on his palette. I thought his painting of the grain elevator in Carlton, called Red Jeep, was especially wonderful.
